Bakuchiol 1% — a phyto-ingredient derived from the seeds of Psoralea corylifolia. Studies have shown that bakuchiol stimulates collagen production, fights wrinkles, improves skin firmness, and suppresses melanin production — much like retinol. However, it is considerably safer and suitable even for very sensitive skin, as it rarely causes irritation. Structurally, bakuchiol and retinol are different, but functionally they are very similar, as they affect the skin in the same way — activating the production of type I, III, and IV collagen while simultaneously inhibiting the enzyme that breaks down collagen.
